The film begins with Gabriel moving through a forest, stopping, and then finding a sledgehammer. It's night, and the only sound we hear is the crunch of thunder and the wind rustling through the trees. In a matter of minutes, Gabriel is at the edge of a lake, smashing rocks into the water and listening to them explode. He stomps through the forest, like a man walking a path. The camera turns with him, and we see a flock of birds flying. Gabriel stops and picks up a rock, and with a hammer-hold technique, he swipes it up in the air. The birds explode into a giant puffy white cloud. It's Gabriel again, walking down the path until he starts hitting the ground with his hammer. He stops, spins around, raises the hammer and smashes it over his head. The camera swings back up to the birds and the scene cuts. It's nighttime again, and Gabriel is now at the edge of a lake. He looks across the water, and the camera swoops up and moves toward the water. We see a lovely female figure, floating next to a boat, as she looks up. She's singing, a soft jazz melody. Gabriel walks onto the lake and is floating along with her. The camera zooms out, and we see the hammer on the ground next to him. He picks it up and smashes it over his head. It cuts, then the camera pulls out, revealing Gabriel lying on the ground, asleep on the beach. It cuts to a black screen, and we hear heavy breathing. It is not Peter Gabriel. We see the hammer on the ground and wake him up. He gets up and starts walking, and he stops and picks up the hammer and smashes it over his head. The camera moves back to the female figure. She and the boat are gone, but Gabriel is still walking. He stops, looks around and jumps up in the air. He smashes the hammer over his head. It cuts. We see a giant rock, and we hear Gabriel softly singing in the forest. As the forest pans out, we see a flock of birds flying. Gabriel is walking along, and the camera turns with him, and then we hear his singing. He smashes the hammer over his head. It cuts. We see a boat, and we hear him singing. The boat appears to be taking on water, and Gabriel is surrounded by a crowd of people, carrying what look to be buckets of water.
