Thank you for that! However, I am still having issues after reactivating my account. Sometimes it's happy and sometimes Windows pops up with that 'System program has encountered an error' (in red) and I have to reboot and then my sound card doesn't work. Sorry. I will try reactivating again later.
I use some powerful samsung monitors for editing. When I first connected them to the computer, I noticed there was no device. After a long time using the computer and hearing nothing from the monitor, it occurred to me that the plug might be the problem. I took the cable which has a plug and moved it counter clockwise to see if that would fix the problem. That did not work. I tried all three of the connections and none of them worked. I was about to buy a new cable when I thought about plugging it into a PC with no monitor connected. I did this that night and it worked. I just moved the plug and it was fine. What was happening was my cable was jumping a solder joint since I had moved the plug and not wiggled it back into the receptacle. There was not enough clearance to no solder joint. I then went back to the original plug and it now works. Since I only had this problem once I think I am safe to say that it was not the cable. My conclusion is that it was a setup problem just like a monitor that does not support HDMI. I know that the old Sony PC was limited in that they only offered VGA output. Even so if someone tells me that they have had this problem more than once, please give my trail some attention. 7211a4ac4a
